Our stay in northern Australia is coming to an
end. Silver Blue was out of the water and apart
from a few repairs she also got a new generator
and a new coat of paint under the waterline. Of
course all of that cost quite a bit … and,
just to mention it, generally speaking, everything
is quite expensive around here.
That's when a cool beer at sundown, sitting in
the rather popular Darwin Sailing Club, is very
relaxing.

Well, we still have a little time to explore the "Outbacks"
around Darwin. The Litchfield Nature Reserve with its impressive
termite hills and its refreshing waterfalls is very beautiful.
But the highlight was Antoine's 2nd birthday on August
18. The unwrapping of presents started at sunrise, and in
the afternoon - of course - we had a birthday cake with
2 candles to be blown out.
Antoine had a small party where he shared his
cake with his guests. We'd met a very nice family
from Holland at the Litchfield Park, and again
here in Darwin.

We send our good-byes from the 5th continent with a few
pictures of Australia's wildlife. My apologies for these
few lines, but we still have so much to do until we leave
for Bali tomorrow. We'll have to cover 900 nautical miles
to Bali, from where we'll send the next report.
Until then, take care!
