Every Tuesday you'll find the logbook of the past week here. The weeks before you will find in the archive.

May – June 2008

Silver Blue spends the first three weeks of May in the Marmaris Yacht Marina. It's a huge place with hundreds of yachts ashore, and also lots of catamarans that spend the winter here.

This is a good place to have technical jobs done, since lots of highly specialised companies have settled here. It also is a rather non-personal place, but I use the time it takes to get a new rudder for Silver Blue to visit friends in Istanbul.

On May 20, together with my friend Flocke from Bremen, we finally set out for the open water again, and into the island-world of Greece. This time of the year it's still rather quiet in the southern Agaeis, so we get to enjoy sleepy fishing harbors and picturesque villages.

We're heading for Mykonos, the party-island, were we're more likely to find the opposite of quiet and picturesqueness - even if the islands most famous picture motives don't make it seem that way.

Finally the rest of Silver Blues original crew can be welcomed on board again. Nela and Antoine are flyind in, accompanied by our dear frien Birgit who will stay with us for a week.

We spend a wonderfull week together, at lovely mooring spots.

We continue towards home, crossing the Korithian Canal, and in the Peleponesian Gulf we visit the famous Delphi.

And after Nelas 30th birhtday we leave Greece during a magnificent sunset.

We pass Albania and sail to Montenegro, a small but nice state with very friendly and open people. After signing in at Bar we follow the beautiful coast to Kotor at the end of a gulf carrying the same name.

Kotors most impressive feature surely is the famous city wall, enclosing a big part high above the city. From up here you have a magnificent view, and at night it presents us with a great view from abord our ship.

We've just left Kotor and already another cultural heritage site awaits us. After signing in with a helpfull harbor master in Croatia we visit Dubrovnik.

And by the end of the month we're already in Brac. Silver Blue finds herself a place in a small harbor, next to a friendly fisherman. Good friends from Austria are already waiting for us here. They welcome us back to Europe with a very special surprise - a firework. That you so much again.

Well, Silver Blue's cruise around the world is slowly but surely coming to an end, but more on that note in the next logbook.

See you then ........... take care!

Tom , Nela & Antoine
