| Well, the last miles to the Marquesas do drag. While we still had 3-4 Beaufort on Monday, helping SILVER BLUE to a nice etmal of 134 miles, the 2-3 Beaufort we're getting on Tuesday seem rather annoying. Especially since we still have about 2 meter swell - and that, without wind in the sails, produces quite a "wobble". On Wednesday and Thursday it gets a little better, and even though the mussels that, by now, cover the entire hull, give us some problems, on Friday morning we discover land! | ![]() |

The first island we land at is Ua Huka. Unfortunately the anchoring
places turn out to be rather uncomfortable, considering the current swell,
but at 11am and after almost 3000 miles, we drop anchor in the "Baie
Haavei". |
| We're anchoring in front of a beautiful beach lined with palm trees,
and with this magnificent juicy green backdrop we firstly have a champagne
welcome. |

Unfortunately our good mood doesn't last, since the rolling constantly increases. Therefore we decide to sail to the next island. At 11 pm we drop anchor in the Baie Taiohae on Hiva. Nuku Hiva is the Marquesas "Main Island" and we'll tell you more about it next week Until then take care! Tom & Nela |
