| This weeks main event is a helicopter round-trip. Since parts of the island are totally inaccessible, many roads not tarred or even nonexistent this is the best way to explore the beauty of Nuku Hiva. | Usually the helicopter is used for airport shuttles and to transport
the sick from other islands. It is also available for round-trips, but being in a party of 4 is advisable, otherwise it becomes rather expensive. |

So meeting Daniel and Nicky, who we got to know on Galapagos, again, turns out to be a lucky coincidence. They also want to get airborne, so on a beautiful day we head out to the heliport. We enjoy an enchanting view of the Baie Anaho from high above, |

fly over the elevated woodlands with magnificent pool in the midst of a forest, |
and take a detour to the "Grand Canyon". |

We're massively impressed, but unfortunately, the flight is over much to soon.
