03.11. - 09.11.2003

Here in Panama the week starts with a holiday - and a special one: the 100th independance day.
Parades march through Casco Viejo and at night well known artists give huge live concerts for free and at midnight they have wonderful fireworks.

The party continues on Tuesday - almost no one, apart from us, is working.

SILVER BLUE is due to get a new coating and we're getting the boat ready to have that applied. As soon as all the necessary materials are accumulated we get going. At first only 6 layers of Epoxy are applied to one hull.
The first layer of anti-fouling is applied to the still wet Epoxy coat - that'll make it hold really well.
And the final result looks quite good, so SILVER BLUE is ready for new adventures again.

But SILVER BLUE will spend another month high and dry, (hopefully) well cared for, in the Flamenco marina, a truly pleasant and modern place at a nice location.

When you're reading this logbook we're already on our way to Eurpe. Just after our return on December 15 you can read a new logbook right here though ... if you like.

Until then, take care!
